Our four Doctors-- Gary L. Englund, Douglas L. Major, Karen R. Kudija and Daniel Hile-- form our group to give what we feel is the best eye care available. They are all licensed to treat and detect anterior eye diseases and are on call for all eye emergencies.

Gary L. Englund, O.D.
Dr. Englund received a Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Irvine. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California School of Optometry in 1977.
Dr. Englund is a member of the American, California and Tri-County Optometric Associations. He belongs to the Rotary Club as well as the Los Osos and Paso Robles Chamber Commerce. He also holds memberships with the National Eye Research Foundation, the American Public Health Association and is a Charter Member with the American Optometric Association Section on Contact Lenses. He lectures to various groups in the county on diseases and age related anomalies of the eye. Dr. Englund fits a variety of contact lenses including lenses that enhance color deficiencies and correct myopia with orthokeratology. He also treats eye disease including glaucoma, removes foreign bodies and treats dry eye. |
Douglas L. Major, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Major received his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1985 after completing his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University.
While in professional school, he received numerous national awards for his research in the areas of computer assisted visual skills and visual problems associated with juvenile delinquency. He as also authored several published professional articles and lectured before the American Academy of Optometry and many local parent and teacher groups.
Dr. Major specializes in the area of visual training for the enhancement of academic and athletic performance.

Karen R. Kudija, O.D.
Dr. Kudija graduated salutatorian of her class from the So. Calif. College of Optometry in 1990 after receiving a BS Degree at UC Berkeley in 1981. She has been involved with researching the link between vision problems and juvenile delinquency. She is a member of the American/California Optometric Association
Daniel Hile, O.D.
Dr. Hile received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1995. He graduated with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2000.
Dr. Hile has received several awards for academic achievement and for clinical excellence in the areas of ocular disease and special testing and also in the area of low vision. He is fully licensed to diagnose, treat, and manage many diseases of the eye. He also fits a wide variety of contact lenses, including specialty lenses for Keratoconus.
Dr. Hile is a member of both the Paso Robles and Los Osos Chambers of Commerce as well as the American, California, and Tri-County Optometric Societies.
